letters in demise

through whispering leaves and silent trees
your names one by one start to arise

under clouds and stone you now breathe
most markings and letters in demise

guarded by your solid winged women
still standing tall after all these years

here where the sun sets a mood too thin
it seems like nothing ever disappears

at night down alone but safe
no petty animals to entertain
close neighbors never met

I know when one will set sail
to leave and abandon pain
there is some life after death
